The 4th of July is around the corner and what better time to pull out my favorite blue and white stripe skirt. Earlier this Spring, Tuckernuck launched their own collection and I have been wearing this skirt on repeat since May! It pairs perfectly with a basic white tee, a wide stripe shirt, or a crop sweater for chillier days. Add a few red accessories and you are all set for the holiday (without screaming firework!) I love the idea of mixing prints, florals and stripes so your outfit doesn’t scream flag swimsuit from Old Navy circa 2000. lol.Read more
The crisp Fall air, roaring crowds and great food.
There is nothing I love more than the beginning of Fall and start of football season. I like to think I have become somewhat of a pro when it comes to hosting a tailgate since my husband played for the Jayhawks back in the day. After spending five seasons cheering on KU, I have perfected my tailgate food, fun and fashion. Read more for my best tips for hosting a tailgate with Draper James.
We are headed out to the ranch to celebrate the unofficial start to Fall and football season this Labor Day weekend. If I wasn’t planning on wearing my cutoffs and booties all weekend, I would be wearing one of these outfits.
My husband always laughs at me because I love a good reason to dress for a special occasion. Whether it be a concert, holiday or backyard barbecue, I love than nothing more than having a reason to wear something other of my normal neutrals. Also, what better reason to buy something new than a festive holiday. Here is my guide to all things Red, White and Blue.
Tuckernuck / Solid and Striped One Piece / Yosi Samara Slides / Mar Y Sol Pouch (under $50!) / Marysia Swim Antibes Bikini / Saint James x J.Crew Stripe Shirt / Pool Float / Matching Set / Chambray Neck Scarf
There is nothing I love more than dressing for an occasion. Especially when it involves stripes and my favorite color combination. Memorial Day is around the corner and I am so excited to celebrate in style. I will be sporting this bathing suit, my favorite cutoffs, and this white linen shirt for our friend’s pool party and then switch into some stripes and a pair of white crop flares for night.
While I am not normally one for the pink and red, during the month of February I am a total sucker for mixing the two. There is something so chic about a red cashmere and pale pink midi skirt. Don’t you agree? With the big day approaching I thought it was only necessary to share some of my favorite red and pink must-haves.
While I am not necessarily big on Valentine’s gifts, my husband always seems to make the day extra special. He is seriously the best at surprises. Most of the time it is not the gifts that make the day special but the memories. We will be celebrating our 10th holiday together and every year he seems to surprise me with something more thoughtful than the previous year.
Do you have any Valentine’s day traditions?

xox- a dash of details
I had two posts scheduled for today, but it just didn’t feel right to talk about my new watch or Memorial Day style with all of the devastation happening in Oklahoma. People woke up this morning without their homes, loved ones, and or any physical possessions. I was listening to the radio on my way to work and hearing those innocent children tell their stories made me want to cry. So today, I think it is important to take a moment of silence and support those who are suffering. It is pretty incredible to read the stories from all of these people donating their time and money.
