And just like that, my birthday’s over. Don’t worry, the celebration isn’t over just yet. Patrick planned the most amazing trip to Napa full of surprises! We leave on Friday morning and I am bursting with excitement. This is our first time to wine country so I’m super excited to escape to cooler weather and amazing wine. Thank you all again for all the birthday wishes. You sure know how to make a gal feel like a million bucks! :)
I made it home late last night from Cabo after a wonderful weekend with my best gals. As a result, I am moving a little slow on this rainy Monday. We had the best trip and if anyone is planning a bachelorette party in Mexico, feel free to email me because we stayed at the coolest house! My favorite part––minus hanging out with my friends, was our dinner at Flora Farms. The grounds were beautiful and the food was even better! It’s a must-see when in Cabo!
I am slowly adjusting into my new routine and I am finally feeling a little bit more “normal” this week. I have missed telling you all about my day-to-day on the regular and feel like I have soo many things I want to share!
First, I want to say a quick thank you all for the kind birthday messages yesterday. My 29th year is off to a great start! I am so grateful for my amazing friends and family that made me feel soo loved yesterday. Mackenzie even surprised me by booking a massage at the White Elephant. It was the perfect mid-day treat!
I am still coming off a major high from the weekend and may have woke up this morning with a little cold. The last month has been filled with so many amazing experiences. From Hawaii (a fun recap coming really soon) to Charleston for Mackenzie’s bachelorette to this past weekend here in Dallas for the RewardStyle Conference, my life has been on overdrive and I think I need to curl up in my bed and sleep for 24 hours to get caught up. Not sure if that will actually happen anytime soon, but my goal this week will be to take care of myself both physically and mentally. I am no expert when it comes to wellness, but I have recently been making small changes in effort to live a healthier lifestyle.
Today deserved an update. Between the start of our summer travels, getting back into a normal life routine after the wedding (it seems to be taking longer than I imagined), and spending as much time outside as possible, life has been quite the rollercoaster. Last week, Patrick and I ate, drank and danced our way through Nashville.
A few stops we made on our trip:
The Pharmacy: Best burger and tots, and not to mention the darling branding. Nashville just gets me with all of their quirky, retro design.
Jeni’s Ice Cream: One word: heaven
The Flipside 12 South: Who would have thought you could come up with 20 different fried chicken sandwhich combinations? Order the Big Fix, and you will thank me later.
Las Paletas: Hands down the best popsicle I have ever had.
Pinewood Social: If you’re looking for a place to spend the day, this is your place. Bowling, bochee ball, craft cocktails, and great music. We spent hours sitting outside and taking in the surroundings.
Broadway Street: You can’t go to Nashville without making a pit stop on Broadway for some great country and millions of tourists. If you are anything like me when you travel, this was a short stop on our tour.
After the wedding my parents drove our gifts from Scottsdale to Dallas, along with a few things from my childhood. Apparently I had a major obsession with Trolls (anyone else?). I am slowly going through the boxes and laughing as I travel back in time to the 90’s- talk about all things Lisa Frank, Pogs, Barbies and rhinestone covered dance costumes. Now I just have to figure out what to do with it :)
I was sad I wasn’t in Scottsdale to celebrate Father’s day with my dad on Sunday, but thanks to Personalized Creations I found the perfect gifts for my grill-lovin’ dad. Here’s a peek at the personalized cutting board I sent to him. They make the cutest gifts for every occasion.
My summer makeup routine is a simple as it gets. Thanks to my lasting tan from Costa Rica, I have been wearing these SUGAR lipsticks from Fresh and a spritz of my signature scent before heading out the door. They have just the right amount of color but keep your lips moisturized throughout the entire day. It has been too hot and muggy (thanks to the crazy rain) in Dallas to spend time putting on makeup. Because who likes melting makeup face? :/
I picked up this dress from Old Navy on sale last week. It is perfect for these hot summer days, and would make the perfect casual dress for a 4th of July party. Just add some red accessories and you are set!
