I have been meaning to write this post since I announced by pregnancy back in August. A few of you sweethearts have been asking where I have been, how I’ve been feeling and wondering where I’ve been. I am doing really great, and I owe you a major update on my second trimester now that I am almost halfway through my third (eek!). If I am being honest, I have loved slowing down a bit and spending quality time with the people I love most. I have been off my phone for the majority of the Summer and Fall to really enjoy this pregnancy. I took a step back from the blog because something just needed to give. Between work (which I absolutely love), buying our first house, renovating said house, and moving at 31 weeks pregnant, I just found myself not finding the right words or stories to share here. Now, that all of the madness is almost behind us (just in time for another big life change to happen), I honestly have so much to tell you! So, minus the lack of a good outfit to share, I want to tell you about all of the pieces I have been wearing the last few months. I almost created a capsule-like wardrobe for myself because I am determined not to buy too many things that I won’t want to wear post-baby.Read more
Friday marked the official start to summer and we are sure feeling the heat here in Texas. Since we will be spending most of the summer in town, I plan on spending the weekends in the pool (with a huge sun hat (or maybe a visor, thoughts? and lots of sunscreen––a new favorite!) and wearing all the breezy sundresses for late night dinners with friends.
There is something special about summer nights. Maybe, it’s the long days when the sun doesn’t disappear until 9pm or everyone’s relaxed attitudes due to the increase in Vitamin D. Whatever it may be, summer has always been my favorite season.Read more
I don’t know if it is the fact that I am dressing for different weather than Dallas, but I have filling my cart with so many new arrivals and sale items this week.
With just over two weeks until Mackenzie’s bachelorette party in Charleston (eeek!), I started browsing the web for some cute Spring pieces to bring on the trip. It has been over 5 years since I was last in Charleston, so I am looking forward to exploring! A little fun fact about me: Charleston is one of my favorite cities in the US. The southern charm, amazing homes and history set it at the top of my list. Oh, and of course the food and shopping don’t hurt either ;)
Exactly two weeks from today we will be sipping on paloma’s (my personal favorite) on the beach in Maui, Hawaii. I have been working on a very exciting project with two of my favorite brands and I can’t wait to share with you very very soon!
We were up bright and early when the boat docked on St. Thomas. Mackenzie and I were pretty excited about our excursion for the day: swimming with dolphins. Naturally, we had to grab a few ice coffees before hoping off the boat (a necessary stop after a few too many glasses of rosé the night before). Swimming with dolphins has always been on my bucket list, so you can imagine my excitement when Mackenzie told me we were hoping on a small boat to check it off my list. I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. The dolphins were so smart and friendly and the entire time I was in the water, I looked like a kid in a candy store.
When packing for this trip, I knew I had to bring my Rag and Bone romper I scooped up at Intermix last year during my surprise birthday trip to West Palm Beach. Thankfully for you guys, it is still available at a few stores and I am thinking about getting the marigold color too because I wore this one all summer long. The silk and classic silhouette make it so easy to throw on but still look put together.

Like the chic French girl, there is something effortless about the “New York girl”. The moment I step off the airplane, I feel a rush of energy through my body. I feel fearless, I take risks, and I am independent. Not that I don’t do these things on a daily basis at home, but there is something different about walking the streets in New York. It is a feeling I cannot really describe, but it is something special and I love it.
Every time I pack for New York, I always travel with my five basics and add a few statement pieces to push my style. If you have been to NYC or live there, you know what I am talking about; anything goes and no one takes a second look. There are a few ladies I always take a note from when making my packing list (see it tomorrrow). Danielle, We Wore What, Blaire, Atlantic-Pacific and , Arielle, Something Navy ooze that ‘New York Cool Girl Style’.

Hello, weekend. So happy to be home this weekend enjoying a little bit of relaxation and playing a lot of catch up. I have some really fun things in the works for the blog in the upcoming weeks that I am so excited to share with you. Here are some links from this week:
Yesterday was my last post for T.J. Maxx and their Fall Style trends. I had so much fun working on this project, and I hope ya’ll enjoyed it too. In case you missed it, I styled a cashmere cardi 3 ways, played with leather, mixed prints, and talked Fall layers.
Tory Burch is having a crazy 70% off sale, the perfect time to buy this tote I have been dreaming about, and this pair of sandals, even if it means I can’t wear them until next season. Oh and did you see her new amazing home decor line. Could this pillow get any cuter? To say I am obsessed is an understatement.
Loving this casual look on Brighton? I mean could she be any more adorable?
The holidays are coming up and I am so excited for my friend Erin’s DIY party at West Elm! If you are in the Columbus area, be sure to RSVP, you are not going to want to miss this!
Does anyone else watch Nashville? I am obsessing over the music this season, especially this song
Hope ya’ll have a wonderful weekend and I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of the support and following along everyday!

Sometimes you just need a good pair of sweatpants. To be honest, I love getting dressed up for work but my ultimate favorite thing to is change into sweats the second I get home. This Fall season, I feel like it is acceptable to wear “pj’s” in public, not like the people you see in the airport in oversized grey sweatpants and a hoodie, but the “casual, put together look.” In the Fall there is nothing better than an oversized cashmere sweater. Add a pair of J.Crew weekend pants and a great bag and you are all set for running errands after work or all weekend long.
This summer is all about the basics and in Kansas City the best place to find everything you need is at the Country Club Plaza. If you are not from KC, the Plaza is a shopping district with some of the best stores this city has to offer, along with great patios for happy hour like Gram and Dun and Coal Vines for a glass of rose.
Here are my picks from some the the Plaza’s top stores
Zoku Classic Pop Maker from Sur La Table– $14.95 / Neon Border Napkins from Anthropologie– $28.00 / Denim Shorts in Patina from J Crew– $79.00 / Cotton Jersey Dress from H&M– $9.95 (what a steal!)/ Ruffled Bandeau Bikini from Forever 21– $26.60 / Panama Hat from J Crew– $58.00 / KC Cap from Standard Style– $42.00 / Karen Walker Sunglasses from Standard Style / Mirrored Ray Bans from Sunglass Hut- $159.95 Tory Burch Silicone iPhone Case from Halls Kansas City– $31.50
